Smile TEK18X2SE - 2wd competition 1/18 - custommade..

I thought i should show ya my newest project. Since i for a few month ago made a BJ2SE (1:10 2wd from my BJ4WE car) shown under.

The plan is to make a 1:18 car that looks like this one..

AE RC18 TEK18X motormount and centreshaft + slipper.
TEK18X chassi - mouting holes will be scratched to a new 2mm cf chassi.
Front will be Losi Mini-T
Speedpassion motor and ESC,Micro spectrum and HS65

I have started out with some foams...and the front end is done. chassi layout is done, and scratched and drilled..only dremeling is left, hopfully i have the time after christmas

Black RPMīs..Jummie

Height

Cuting front rims...for the right look?

Cutting some foam

Done

compare to the TEK18X car...same width

frontend is almost done....more to come, just a testmount...

Awesome project, I'm very interested in hearing your driving report. Just for kicks, I removed the front dogbones from my RC18T, but wasn't happy with how it handled. The 18's are meant to be 4WD. How the Mini-T front end helps handling is what I'm interested in. BTW, I love the write-up you have over on RCTech about this 18 in it's previous incarnation. Not only do you know how to build these right, you're a damn good driver!

Thomas, what is the benefit of the motor in the front? I think there isn't. Most 2wd have their motor behind the rear axle. I know in 1/10 they are experimenting with the motor in front of the rear axles. It moves the battery more forwards so the cg is in the middle of the car..

6 packs...the car is real balanced on track and in air.. i have app 240gr in the front and say 280 in the rear side to side is real good, just a few grams is diffrence...

I can push the car REAL hard in,midle and out of the corner, almost like a 4wd car..some motor rotation in the air will affect it, but just to now how,and it can be real good,

Still a 2wd, but more "feeling" of a 4wd car, thats my benefit (spelling) Traction aint a problem.

IL be back asap my new servo arrives this car will be used a lot more...

5 of 5 il give it!
