got problems?

Ok today I was driving my pro pulse around and i started to hear like a clicking\crunching.I checked to see if there were any rocks or debris in the gear mesh or maybe in the motor. Ran fine with out motor just rolling the chassis around and motor worked fine. But when i put the motor back in it would roll then freeze up and would not move without forcing it(which didnt sound good when i did)So i got it working right and now when i drive it either i got full front wheel drive or i got full rear wheel drive. Its like its not catching or the diff is loose.I tried to tighten the diff up by using the allen wrench and it has only 1 place where i can put the allen wrench in to tighten it.So now it takes a while for it to get going and when i go in the grass and stop then try to go again it wont go because the diff is loose I am guessing.
I was hoping that some one could help me with this problem.New to rc cars and dont know all the things about them.
Thanks

You might want to check the input gears, these are the ones on the driveshaft, next to check is how the main gears on the diffs are, they might need to be replaced, what about motor mesh......if the mesh on the motor and pinion are tight then there is going to be a lot of resistance and this is bad for the motor.

Yeah, definitely check the input gears! Those gears are the ones to strip first (even on RC18's)

RC18 diff gears, no problem...
RC18 input gears will work, but then you would have to convert the driveshaft and spur gear as well.
Look for my thread, where I did such a conversion

how do you think it would cost to change drive shaft, front and rear gears and spur gear to better ones from a rc18t?

#21089 Main Driveshaft - $6.99
#21033 Spur Gear/Drive Cup 55T - $2.99 (DO NOT GET 60T - it's too big!!!)
#21022 Differential and Input Gear - $3.99 X 2 (front & rear)

So you'd be looking at about $17.96 for the conversion. But it is better in the long run... parts will be cheaper and more abundant!
