Mini-LST Single Servo Plate

Starting work on a Single servo plate.
Here is a mock drawing, I want it to be a part of the top plate right above the front diffs.

Any input on why this might work or not work will help.

it might work i dont know. you need to cut your chassis a tad probably to get it to fit with the steering linkage.

Update

Just an update:
I'm getting a MLST top chassis plate today to cut the front part off. I just got the Servo Mount Plate yesterday and I can see some modifications I have to make.
Because the front of the chassis is going to be cut off the connection to the front secton and the chassis will be weekend (two screws that hold the front end to the chassis will be cut off) so I think I need to extend the plate on the sides so it can be screwed down maybe using the gear cover holes. This will take the place of the connection that was cut off.

There is barely enough room for the servo saver I cant tell for sure till I actually cut chassis and put the servo on to see if it fits. I will also need to move the servo a tad back not to much or I'll hit the slipper.

Are there any ideas on a clean easy steering connection to the servosaver

I was looking at the Kimbrough Servo Saver Any one know the diffrence between small Medium and large?
Is the whole servosaver that is smaller or just the whole that attaches to the servo. And will anysize fit a standard size 1:10 scale servo?

The kimbrough comes with inserts for the popular servo splines so they will fit almost all,the size listed is the physical siver of the ss itself

No they don't.

The fits-all ones have been around forever, but racers don't use them.

I can understand the adapters would make the big servo saver fit the small servos.. But I'm guessing there is no way a small servo saver is going to fit a big servo. Is that correct?

Anybody that knows better knows the ones using the adaptor have extra play in them because of the adaptor.
Fine for the basher that wouldn't know the difference but a racer should.

You should try going to the track more, or hanging out with some real racers. You might learn something.

Ok here is what I got so far.

The Single Servo Plate still needs to be modified a little and cleaned up. I still needed to cut the chassis but the plate is made to work with the current screw holes in the chassis. Less moding the better. Now I need to get the steering working.

Here are some pics

looks good keep it up. when i did my single servo the only problem i ran into was hitting the front drive shaft just a tad. so i went back to 2 hs81mg's, been working great. when they go bad i might jump on the single servo again, not sure. nice job man

Just an Update:
The plate has been modified yet again.. lol
I realized that depending on how you want to do this mod
you need to be able to put the servo as far forward or near to the Center Diff as possible.
hopefully the new plate design will accommodate the different ways a person can do this mod.
Will post pics soon..

Ok.. The Single Servo Plate Is Done but I have yet to finish the mod...
Here are some pics of the new servo plate.

If anyone is intrested in trying this single servo plate out.. PM me cost will be $15.00
It's solid aluminum the mounting holes match up to the screw holes in the chassis so no drilling.
Of course there will be some cutting an moding. Not for a novice to try.

I havent finished this mod to busy right now with work and kids but if anyone out there would like to give it a try
and post your findings.. let me know.

When I get a chance to finish it I will post some pics.

when i did a single servo conversion like that, well not mounted the same but same idea, the servo saver was too darn close to the center driveline. i could get it to work but i didnt like the way it was. so i fixed it up for my hs81mgs and has been great ever since

Argh Easter weekend was busy did not have time to work on it but here is a pic of the single servo plate 2 (ssp2). With this one there will be some drilling the two top holes. It wont screw in over the front diffs like my other plate. That way you can have it as high up or as low as you want from the chassis. It's more a plate more like the other single servo mods out there.

Will be trying both plates out.
