my GF got me the F150 for my birthday today
so well..after spending half an hour assembling all the silly body parts with 50 tiny screws I took the AAA battery tray out (it pops off, then 2 wires need to be unsoldered).
soldered on a HPI micro battery connector to the trucks battery leads.
installed a pair of litiums (750mah)
I dunno how the truck is stock on AAA's, but its a hoot on the lithiums!
I like it a lot more than the old-gen xmods! Its MUCH quieter which was my main complaint with them before, the steering is much better, and the speed controller reponse is much faster.
pros:
quiet, runs nice and smooth
awesome scale BFG AT tires
scale disc brake rotors included (was $12 to add to my old xmod)
suspension is pretty good, ground clearence is decent stock
cons:
rear of body sits up too high for my taste
orange? really now, give me a black or blue truck...not an orange one.
too many freaking tiny screws on the body parts
seriously though, this is a really nice truck, great deal for the money.
FYI - I sell these lithium conversion kits for only $15 if anyone has an xmod here, they are really easy to install and at least on my old gen xmod `65 mustang totally transforms the car, 40min runtimes with much more speed than AAA's.
