whats the best surface to make a drift track out of?

hello everyone!!!

i am a super newb to this rc stuff.. i had a rc knight rider car given to me for christmas in 1983.. strobing light and all that... i still have it somewhere... by far best toy i ever had!!

now i am a little older , i am extremely interested in drifting. i play drift games like forza2 and 'oversteer' (mod for rfactor - pc), but i want for more.

as i cant afford to import a full size s15, all modded up, from japan... i have decided to aim a little lower... 1/18 th lower to be exact!

so my rtr rs4 sport micro will arrive at my door on monday morning. i ordered some drift tires and a solid diff for it also... hopefully this should be enough for indoor drifting.

anyway... i want to build an indoor track for it. at the moment i am thinking of buying lots of interlocking foam tiles for the surface. easy to build as and where i want it. the only thing is, i have never drifted any rc cars. i dont know how they are going to handle on different surface types.

are foam tiles going to be a good choice? if they wont work well, then what will? anyone made a good track for drifting?

thanks a lot guys! i am sure i will be on here a lot from monday cant wait!!
