300 motor?

ok well i have a mrs4 coming in the mail to me and im looking into getting a micro elite mod motor. does it directly like bolt to a stock mrs4 or do i have to make any modifications to it to make it work? also what 6 cell pack should i get for it? about how much speed should i be looking at with the 6 cell and the elite motor? thanks for any help.

300 motor questions

When installing a hot motor into a Micro RS4, you will need to do the following:
  • Buy a decent front diff
  • Buy steel dogones

For info on front diff choices click here

Regarding front dogbones click here

Buy your packs from reputable manufcaturers:

United RC

BLiND Batteries

You can't really tag a speed to any motor, but the Elite Modified is a nice little motor with tons of torque and a sound like no other motor!
I would say with a 10-13 (max) tooth pinion you will see a massive difference over the standard motor

Motors...

if you're planning on running an Elite Modified (Coreless) motor, that will bolt straight on to a standard motor mounting plate.

If you are planning on running a Big Block 300 size motor you will need to do the following:
  • Buy a 300 Motor Mount plate
  • Raise the rear deck (The Orion 300 motor mount has the spacers to raise the deck)
  • Dremel some of the rear bulkhead away to allow the spur/pinion to mesh

Don't get the "brand name" motors. They are cheap and are basically relabeled Mabuchi stockers. For the price of one of those, you could get one of Radishack's tuned 370s. As for the pack, I would reccommend URC's Sport line of packs. They are just as good as KAN packs, and are a bit cheaper.
