deans plug and charging

does having deans plugs really make that much difference , than having stock hpi micro battery connectors?

and for charging.. whats a good charger that can charge and discharge?
i've been looking at the venom racing pro thingy... just wondering if its worth it

The Deans should have less resistance than the standard HPI connectors. But you probably won't see much of a difference besides if you're pulling some high currents like on a brushless system.

I got Deans over the standard connectors because getting replacement connectors cost as much or more than micro Deans.

You can always get clone chargers of the Venom, or did Venom just buy a generic hardware? If you look around, the Venom charger looks like a lot of other Chinese made chargers that cost fraction of the price. You may want to look into an iMax B6 (NiCD, NiMH, LIPO).

If you're interested, a buddy of mine has one similar to it that has both the charger and power supply for sale. It is brand new never used (the shipping took too long and he ended up getting something local so he has this one as extra and he doesn't need it). His one is Battman B6 which has all the same features as the iMax B6.

I think he wants to sell it for $50 with the power supply.

I actually have the Battman charger and I use it for both Lipo and NiMH (for my 1/10).

Ok, PM me your email address and I'll forward it over to him to email you. But he lives in Oshawa so it might be far for you.

Maybe he can pass it over to me and we can meet up in Toronto again (but I'm out of Toronto this week so it has to be next week).

Its always a good deal to change out the plugs when your planning on using mod motors......for me the stock plugs could not handle the current rate and i had some melt on me in the process......they became hard to pull apart.

Deans are the way to go. They are way easier to solder, they can handle almost anything, and they are easier to plug and unplug. I converted everything I have to them and I am glad I did.
