After racing on the track all weekend, I blew a shock, and it sounds like I brock a gear inside the stock servo. I have not pulled it appart to see the problem but I did find a link to RC Hobby Explosion that have a servo upgrade they say fits. Has anyone used this servo or know if it is a clean swap out with the stock servo? I am not looking to do any customizing yet with my truck other than the factory bolt on upgrades. http://www.rchobbyexplosion.com/MEGA...mtpt-mp123.htm
i can't find any torque specs for that servo and i imagine if they were any good they would publish them. the hitec hs-56hb will drop in, but it took me a few minutes to figure out the best method for mounting. i used the supplied mounting blocks vs the stock clamp mount. you will also need one of these: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/23936
the 56 is Waaaaaaay better than the stock servo! another option is the even stronger hs-65mg. it's not "drop in" either, but only requires a very slight filing of the stock clamp mount. (the 65 also requires the servo saver)
I am just getting into the RC offroad sport and I heard about servo saver kits but I have no idea what it is. From the look of whats in the parts kit you linked to, I seem to already have this on my servo. What exactly is a servo saver and, aside from saving the servo, what does it do?
