New Wheel Option
Just a few shots of something I stumbled across last week. I was actually wrenching on my MLST, and wanted the Super Nitro/buggy wheel combo I had on my 18T. The Super Nitro rims have buggy tires glued to them, and I wanted to see how they would be on my MLST.
So the 18T needed some temporary shoes, and the MLST stockers made sense. The stock MLST wheel hex went right over the 18T axel and pin. Thats all that was needed. Pretty simple and they look pretty good on there.
It's got me liking my MLST with it's nice CAW goodies though
Comparing my 18T to my MLST with it's extended axels and chassis are like 2 different trucks. My MLST is really pushing the limit's of 18th scale now

Looks pretty good man!
I guess the biggest issue is the off set (or lack there of) on the MLST wheels.

Thanks guys
The servo should be fine, but haven't tried it out yet. I've run it with the taller Super Nitro rims/ buggy tires set-up and the servo was spot on. The Hitec 81MG's have really held up for me so far (knock on wood ).
Ruger the wing is from the Kyosho Half 8 but the mount is from an B4 buggy. It's almost identical to the 18B wing mount, so that could also be used. There are slight differences between the B4 and 18B design, but none that would stop you from mounting either of them.
I like this Half 8 wing because it's made from the harder plastic similar to what the 8th scale wings are made from. My 18T has been know to flip and cartwheel sometimes .
Parma also sells their 18th scale wing seperately for a few $, but it's more of the 10th scale electric "buggy" style. But it is still portional to the 18T.

wow.. good thing i checked this out,, i was going to ask if the rims would fit the rc18t,,, the thing is .. trinity isnt making a race offroad monster tire,, and it is driving me crazy,, and so far i have been using the half8 wheels.. and i like them,.,, but i wanted to try out the mini lst on my rc18t,, reason is they now have a king-pin tire,,, a true racing tire...
would love to know from you how these tires work onroad and definately offroad

Ok i'll get some body off pix and of the B4 mount. The 18B wing mount can also be fashioned to fit. It just attaches to the wing with screws or fasteners insted of the tradtional body clips like most other wings.
Jae, thats a good thought about the SKP's. I hear it holds up well for the monster truckers. Like Xtant was saying though, the off set is different. I'll try and get a shot of a pair of the MLST tires on my 18T, with a pair of 18T tires for compairison. Which tread are you using on your H8 tire? That "X-Pattern"? Funny because I want to switch to the Pro-Line Crime Fighters in the H8 size and switch my truck to an 18B.
That stock MLST tread holds up ok for most off-roading surfaces. But get any where near a street or road and they will waer out a bit quickly. They perform ok on the street, they just tend to wear out quickly on there.
The new ATX tread from Losi looks intresting for off-road surfaces. I would compare it to the Dirt Hawgs from Pro-Line. The Dirt Hawgs are a great, off and on road tread. Not the absolute best on either surface, but they perform at a great level on both.
The SKP's are like what you say, a more race oriented tread. The side wall size looks ok for the Mini SKP's, but on the real monster truck size tires, the side wall is kinda too tall in my opinion. Thats why I went with the 40 series wheels and tires for my LST. That way I could still get a tread like the Bow Ties or SKP's, but without the added weight of the bigger SKP's.
A LHS is supposed to have gotten the new MLST treads in stock this past weekend. I didn't get a chance to look, so I hope they still have them if I get a chance to go down tomorrow
