mounting venom fireball motor

well my fireball came today.
it is not exactly the same as my stock motor, the mounting screw holes are farther in and require a different size screw. also the shaft is not keyed like the original. ive drilled out the motor a mount a bit, and seem to have a screw that works, but it still doesn't want to mount correctly. has anyone done this? is there another motor mount i can get that will work with the fireball?

thanks

you might need to drill out a bit more......i think the screws for that motor are 3mm button head screws. You should be okay in doing this......some motors are just not exact, i have done this a few times in the past with other rc's.

after a frustrating afternoon, i did get it in correctly. i drilled out the motor mount a bit more, and trimmed the screw i was using, it was hitting the coil...
man this motor is definitely faster than stock! i went for a spin with a nearly dead power pack, expecting it to be like the stock motor, but this thing flies! it really rips down the road, and seems to have good torque off road as well... i guess im pretty happy with it for 7 bucks... i will post up a full review tomorrow.

You might as well get another motor while your at it man.....for 7bones thats way cheaper then getting a speed 300 motor.

now that i dont know.....the only reason why i suggested getting a mod motor is for speed........they make them in lots of torque and high rpms as well.
