Welcome jd

Check out the Batt thread two below yours. URC posted packs that they carry, that are supposed to drop into the MLST.

Blind Batts also states specifically which packs he makes for the MLST.

I have a Thunder Power 1320 mah three cell and 2000 mah two cell that fit just fine. The 3 cell is a tad bit tall, but nothing bad.

Run time is good. I think the only time I pushed my 1320 mah pack till the end, it went around 20-30 minutes. That was with the stock motors and gearing

I am running a brushless and I love it. I have only run NiMh but will be getting Lipos soon. My run times have been around 12 to 15 min.
As far as problems with the mlst it has some issues but with new products coming out it will be a great truck. The biggest issue is the gears in the diffs. losi has fixed the diffs in the new trucks but to be sure call losi and talked to them about some replacement gears and grease. also the the wheel hexes were too small causing cracks in the wheels they have new ones out wich they will send to you for free. good luck its a fun little truck.

Sorry if there was confussion with the 3 cell. It's for when I run the Mamba 25 speedo, not the stock ESC

The stocker is only rated up to a 2 cell Lipo or 6 or 7 cell nimh pack.

With some better Nimh cells, you will notice more "punch" . There are GP, IB or Kan cells. Adding that seventh cell will give you a boost of power. I beilive there are also some 1400 cells either on there way, or just coming out. It'll be good to see what they offer.

IMO the 2s lipo 7.4 2000 mah is plenty battery for the MLST...or you'll be breaking too many parts.

you dont even need a lipo setup to break parts. i ran 7cell and ripped both ball diff to pieces and i think blew my stock esc. needless to say it sits and just collects more dust on the shelf than the track, =(

I was running 9 cells and the only problems I had were impact breaks like bumpers and body posts.

That battery was insane fast and really heavy it made the truck roll easy. Now my truck is in pieces on the bench until I get some cash flow.
