Got one

Ola!

My BRP SC18 arrived today. Wicked.
I haven't built it yet --> reserved for next weekend due to another new arrival

I love its simplicity, who would ever believe that this little baby is a Micro killer?

I'll keep you informed of my build progress

It has been a month now. Have you run your car yet? If not, lets get with it.

Dyno Dan, my bad, it's still in the box, my M18 is consuming my time and effort.
Oh, anyone ever tried a brushless SC18?

Mondo,

Any progress on the SC18?
You ought to put it together. It will surprise you.
Rumor of a SC18 V2 about to be unveiled...

I'm wondering if Mondo built it as well.
The Xray M18 maybe fun but out of the box the SC18 will blow his mind if everything is moving freely and it is setup correctly.

The blue fiberglass SC18 is now a generation old with the SC18 V2 release. The SC18V2 is being raced on carpet here in Ohio an is faster and better sorted out of the box than the original SC18 which was very good.
The SC18V2 features pivot ball Tplate setup with the chassis plate slotted for KAN sized 2/3A cells.
It also features the same blue fiberglass/garolite as the original SC18. The material sourced by BRP is top grade and very rigid. The gains by going to carbon fiber just were not there for most racers because of the quality of the fiberglass and thicknesses used are appropriate to provide the needed rigidity. The Pro and Pro LTO, both are made with carbon fiber, are slower than the new SC18V2

With good batteries the SC18V2 is faster than the stock SC18.
With great batteries it is incredibly fast.

The conversion kit is out now with the full kit due in a few weeks time.
A couple links:

I don't represent BRP and am not affiliated with them other than as a customer and I race against BRP owner Bud Bartos from time to time. I own several SC18 V1s and a Pro LTO. They are all durable and rugged. I've only bent rear pod plates and broken a rear axle in two years of racing and some spectacular crashing indoors on carpet and outdoors on asphalt. Bud did his homework and built a durable strong little 18th scale car that is becoming more and more like a 12th scale with each generation.

BRP

David,

The BRP is built, but far from complete.
I still need some odds and ends before I would call it complete, these are:
  • 300 Motor Plate
  • Ball-Diff
  • Bearings
  • Micro RS4 wheel adapters - which I cant seem to find on BRP website!

Once I have those I will call it "complete"
It's going to be nice to have another Micro killer in my collection
