Attention All Pro-Pulse Owners...

I had posted this info in another thread a couple of days ago, but it was brought to my attention that I should post it as a new thread, as it may generate some discussion.

The September 2007 issue of Radio Control Car Action, there is a write up on the Pro-Pulse Pro-T100 & Pro-B100 vehicles starting on page 138. Then on pages 78 & 79, there is an ad for Megatech's MPro-RCT & MPro-RCB. (Same vehicles, but renamed under the Megatch's banner). It comes with the replacement bodies that you can purchase at Radio Shack.

I did a search on the "Megatech" vehicles and I found that Tower Hobbies will be selling them with a release date of Mid-October. I'm excited because I'm hoping that all the hop up parts that you see on the Megatech web site will now be available for sale on Tower Hobbies, and hopefully at a way cheaper price than what Radio Shack charges. (ie. $9.99 for three antennae tubes with body clips!?)

Yeah man, 10 bones for 3 antenna tubes and 10 body clips!? Then to replace the Spur & Pinion Gears, that's gonna run you 20 bones!!! A replacement body runs you 30 bones!?!?!? It's crazy what Radio Shack charges for parts!

All I can say is DUH. I thought this was discussed before, but maybe not here.

I haven't used the stock antenna tubes on my Pro-Pulses. I got a tube holder and an antenna tube.

I will be glad when the Propulse is out from underneath the RS banner. I was intending to keep one truck outfitted strickly with Propulse upgrades, and will now wait to upgrade further till I see what prices Tower lists.

If you've seen the ad in September 2007 issue of Radio Control Car Action, then you've see the Pro-Pulse "replacement" body. I went to Radio Shack and purchased one, and I've got pictures of it mounted on my post "Monster" T100 & also on my post "Project: T100(R)" as well.

RadioShack is merely a distributor, they even outsource the manufacturing of everything they sell with their name on the packaging. The discussion in this thread involves the aparent departure of Megatech from the licensing and distribution deal with RS.

Actually, I found out that they will be marketed by Megatech, the company who makes them, but under a new name, the MegaPro. They will be sold through Tower Hobbies.
