just get another esc,,,, that one is adept for a smaller motor....
depending on size track,,surface,drivingstyle,
just get either the mongoose 10.5 or 13.5(for medium to small tracks ) ,, or mamba 10thscale sidewinder esc with either the ammo28-35-3900 or the NEU 1105/1.5y (for large tracks,, with serious jumps),, 1105/2y (medium to large) or 1105/2.5y(medium to small)

Vendetta st Help
Hey Jea, what do you think of new permax 480 motor? I was also trying to find what rating does 10th sidewinder have, how many amps it can provide etc. Do you think I should buy 10th scale sidewinder with combination of 4600 or 5600 motor, or should I buy motor 3900 separately to work well with 2s battery.
There is also a neu 1105/3Y motor which only needs 20ams, but it probably is going to be very slow on 2s.
Can you explain what happens when motor doesn't get enough amps from esc, and what happens when motor gets more amps over what is rated on a motor.

The sidewinder/3900 is a good combo.

Earlier you'd mentioned getting a 22A Quark, when they have a 30Amp-rated model (ProCar), and I said something about you blowing it up. Along those lines it's why some guys use 1/10th-rated ESCs with their bigblock brushless motors - because it's better to be safe than sorry.
Motors pull what they're going to pull Amps-wise, and ESCs only deliver what is asked of them (they don't just give more power or amps), but it's compounded by how much drag the rest of he drivetrain (and whether you have a dirty bearing or one going bad) that taxes the electronics even more - and it's where people make mistakes buying an ESC by getting barely enough to get by instead spending a few extra dollars as insurance.
|
Ok I see clearer now, but isn't its true if I have esc that gives me 40amps for a motor that rated only like 25amps (neu 1105 y1.5) don't you think I am going to blow it up, just the motor itself.

be safe and get the 10th scale sidewinder..
as far as the permax 480 motors go... if it will fit,, and you can bolt it on no problem,, then go for it..
or you can get the medusa 4200kv.. its a 28mm motor aswell..
or you can get any of the 1105,,1107 or 1110 series motors by NEU
either way you should get the 10th scale esc..
if your batts arent up to the task,, they will heat up.. so i would try to look into the evolie eonlite 2s 1600mah..
