Question is there the possibility that....

...the ESC can cause a car to be slower than it should? I have a propulse with the high speed motor which seems to be slower than one of my propulse cars without a high speed motor. Plus, I am getting a strong delay in trying to go into reverse. Does this seem to be a ESC? Thanks

Keep in mind that high rpm motors use fewer winds and have less 'torque'.
Running the same gear ratio on two seperate vehicles, one having a high-torque motor, the other having a high rpm motor, the high-torque vehicle will always beat the other off the line. But as long as you have enough straight away ahead, the high rpm motor will eventually come up to speed and move that vehicle faster. But how often do you have that much straight away when running off-road?
What does this all mean? If you run a high rpm motor then you need to run a lower gear ratio so that the high-rpm motor can get to it's torque range quicker.
Get the pinion gear set and use a smaller gear or put in the dual-motor(both high torque) for increased off the line and short burst power.

cheers

I also agree with you BB..........the bigger the pinion count like lets say 17 versus a 15 the 17 will take a little longer for the motor to whine out then the 15. And like he stated if you are drag racing it then make sure that you have enough straight for the motor to whine out.
