I don't have permission to put pics up. It would be like what happened last year with the Polaris 900 Snowmobile. A guy leaked out pics and Polaris found out, he got fired and Polaris told all shops that they would sue if they had the new sled pics anywhere and had been showing them to customers. I won't post anything until I have permission to do so.

There will not be any pics until we are closer to the release date.

I just got my chance to run with the 6.8 in my RC18T and it is wicked fast. So much torque it lifts the front end up a bit on carpet. Can't wait to see what the 8k will do with a Lipo

And with cogging, I have not seen any cogging at all. Slow speeds, accel out of turns.....the braking strength is programmable and proportional too Very smooth operation. Haven't had any stutters or delays in throttle response either.

Thats good to hear. Seems to be one freakin sweet system. What is the price gonna be, around the same price of the Mambas?

Cool colors. Looks like Tekin is gonna be a big factor in Rc again. Curious, what made them leave in the first place? They made such great stuff.

rcdriver,

Tekin left the R/C business because Kevin was having problems with employees stealing product, and he eventually became frustrated enough to close up and tell everyone to go home.

Tricky, speed wise assuming the setups are the same on each vehicle, will the scorpion 8k have the same top end speed and torque as a mamba 8k or more?

Besides the obvious (cogging) what advantage is there to getting a scorpion?

I've been reveiwing the specs on the Scorpion and the Mambas.

Based on the specs, I really dont see any difference in the 2 BLs.
Can somebody....maybe you Tricky?, enlighten me/us this??

Sorry fellas, I've been out of town at a track for testing and the like.

We ran the Scorpion all day in the RC18T, and the 6.8 version on the stock 1100 NiMH was running side by side with an HPI PRO4 with a 9 turn double and a 3300 Matched NiMH. The RC18T had enough hook up and torque on the carpet track to flip over backwards when punching the throttle. Top speed with the 8K is totally insane with only a 2 cell LiPo. Due to the snow, we have not had a chance to run for top speeds, but hope to very soon.

As for advantages over the Mamba system, the Scorpion will be in a case, and has the same programming setup as the G10 Pro+, with the light bar and two buttons. Needless to say, this made programming easier and faster at the track. Instead of having to go through the process of listening to the beeps and determine which question you are on, you just simply push the Mode button until you reach the setup you woul like to change, and then press the Increment button to change the settings. The Scorpion also has Drag Brake, and up to 13 levels of setting in throttle, brake and drag drake. Say, for instance you want to change how much drag brake you want. You press mode until the light is next to Drg Brk. and press the increment button to increase, decrease or turn off the drag brake. Couldn't be easier.

I'm also curious as to where you read specs (besides the size specs at teamtekin.com) on the Scorpion, as none have been released before this Saturday. This was one of the first times we allowed people to drive this system and give feedback on it.

We were also letting drivers demo a new ESC and the Rebel2. Great day of indoor carpet racing, and lots of positive feedback, especially on the Scorpion.
