went i got the turnbuckles for my pp, they were tight also. i squeezed them with a pair of pliers gently while on the ballstud until they moved freely.

The only reason why i did this was to make it easier for me to take it off with the ballstud since most if not all use a hex screw. But you can also do it that way....its more like whatever works right.
