Smile Rc18t motor help

hi guys , new to this site and rc cars , i have just bought an rc18t and i fitted a reedy mini max motor , i put it back together and now when i turn the power switch on it just revs the motor very fast straight away and tries taking off , ive tried turning the throttle trim on the transmitter and this does help for a second but then keeps spinning , have i put the wires on the reciever right ? im not sure what the problem is , i put the origional motor back on which was working fine and now that one is doing it ! any help would be great thanks craig

You might want to try the motor with another esc, or if you can reset the one on there if you can, make sure that the plugs to the rx are all the way in using a small flat tip driver.

Now that i would not know since i usually replace the stock esc's with one that i have on hand. If it does it with the other motor as well you might want to give AE customer service a call and hopefully they will replace it.

forgot to mention the on off switch doesnt seem to be working now , but it was before , as soon as i connect the battery it just sets off , thanks for any help !

You can cut the off the wires and connect the cut wires together with a small blob of solder and use heat shrink to cover it. If you dont feel good at all doing that then just give cs a call. The solder joints on the switch part always seem to come off.
