Thanks to Gwarmagaddon for providing the first useful feedback in this thread.

I still hope to get some more intelligent feedback from any of you guys out there with both BRPs and Micros (as opposed to the "Intelligentia" feedback I've received, which has told me nothing about BRPs thus far)!

Thanks,

Paul

You are really making me laugh.

Nice to see how my questions to you were overlooked. What do you want to know about the BRP cars? What will the additional knowledge do for you?

I've never known a propery set up 10th scale pan car that couldn't smoke a similarly powered (ie both running 6 cell stock) 10th scale sedan. I know the sedan guys will beat their chests and try to claim otherwise, but it just isn't true. Pan cars are lighter and only need to put the power through two wheels. I've not driven the BRP, but I have seen Intels car on track and when it's working for him it's scarry fast. I would assume that the BRP if on 6 cells and a 300 and is properly set up SHOULD be faster than a Micro RS4 just as a properly set up RC10L2 is faster than a TC3 on the same horsepower. As far as you notion that the RS4 is a more sophisticated design, naturally. On track though, the BRP should be faster and is really a different car than the Micro. The BRP should really run in it's own class. Which is better??? That's opinion

I don't believe that the car should be in its own class.

All that I can say is that I drove the EXO2 and that chassis carries serious corner speed.

I do feel however that stock micro to stock BRP that the micro is an inferior car. As far as chassis design, in no way is it any more advanced than the stock BRP. Both cars in their stock forms are very simple in design.

In the end, each car has its own pros and cons but both are extremely fun to drive.

Not in it's own class??? You only say that because you got it dialed!!! It should be in it's own class because it is a faster chassis. 4wd, as far as r/c goes, did not come about because it was faster, it came about because it was more user friendly. (Read easier to drive.)

Micro is inferior? Why, because it is slower?!? RS4 not more advanced? Belt driven 4wd, dual differential compared to 2wd single differential is not more advanced? ifusayso!

Let me throw in my $.02,

The BRP is the best 1/18 scale Pan car out there.
The HPI Micro is the best 1/18 4wd car out there.

That said you can't run them in the same class that makes no sense at all.
As an example you don't see 1/10 scale pan cars and 4WD
touring cars racing in the same class.

Both cars are great on their own,
but I have to dissagree that they should be run together.
Stock or modified.

Just my $.02
Peace....

Well Henry, Glenn I will beat you with either car. I am saying this in good fun guys.

Glenn as far as the design of the stock micro. The addition of a diff and a belt makes the car more advanced?

What I call advanced is the EXOII. I don't feel that there is any 1/18 chassis that can compare. I drove an EXOII for some time on Monday and the car was fast! I could not believe the way that the car stuck to the bank. It was plain crazy! I will eventually purchase or build another micro out of parts and have both cars ready for action.

In the end, it will be the driver who wins the race.

You all are more than welcome to drive the car if you like. In fact, I would prefer that you guys take it for a run. Will you both be at SoCal next week?

No worries Intel, this is always fun!

As far as being more advanced, you said it right there, 4wd. Does that translate to faster lap times on the track?...I'd say no. The 2wd pan chassis is an old and simple design with one very key featuire, it works! Give the same driver two poroperly set up cars, one pan opne sedan, lap times would be better with the pan car. Fact is, if there was more support for 10th scale pan or even better 12th scale pan, I wouldn't even own a 10th scale sedan...personally, I hate them, but it is what everybody races so...

I'll be ther on the 18th, see you then.

Intel, bring your little BRP car down and get smoked in camarillo. what? You got your setup down now We will see if my modified chassis will beat your BRP. Hey, let me try it if it works well this time. I wanna see if my chassis will work @ SoCal. It might be too low for the transition you were telling me about

Gwarmageddon as a fellow racer you should know that one setup does not work for all tracks. The Camarillo track is much different from SoCal. The last time at Camarillo was my first time trying to work with the car. All that I know is that I beat you once and have not had a properly working car ever since.
I know that I can beat you again and come November 1 I will.

Gwarm,
Don't be so hasty to get on Intell's case,
when he has this BRP hooked up, he is quick.
At SoCal he was smokin quick.

Unfortuneately I can't make it next week.
My son is going to be in a Basketball
tourney Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Lastly, Intelli you are right, I think Glenn
could out race me in his sleep!

I've never driven a BRP, but it seems to me like the Micro is a much more advanced chassis design and that the all wheel drive would make it a far superior car in every respect.

Thanks,

Paul
I have a BRP FW-18 with speed300/ball bearings/diff and a 540 micro. What I liked about BRP is that it doesnt NEEDS lots of hopups to get it where you want without breaking something in the process Advanced micro? M-18 owns

Lol, out race you in his sleep. You aren't that slow Henry. You were in the A main last week for a reason!

Too bad that you can't come out next week. I wonder if the VIP guys will be out there or even Sumschmoe.

xDS-1 thanks for joining in on his topic.

Funny how the thread starter isn't even participating in his own thread
