Question Foam tires ?

I'm thining about getting foam tires but I drive mostly on concrete and am worried about tire wear. How do foam tires durability compare to rubber tires?

Mine have lasted longer than my stock tires and they have way better grip. I also mainly run on my gravely streets. The foam is like half rubber compound or something. I would highly recommend them.

you can prevent the chunking of the foams by either running a small bead of CA right where the foam meets the rim or, what i usually do on TO soft rears, take some shoe goo and smear a light coat on the side wall.

thanks, I think I am going to get the TO premounted tires. Should I go hard in front and med in back or some other combo?

generally you want to stay with the softer rear / harder front combo, it just depends on the surface. just experiment, but TO mediums in front and softs in the rear should be a good start. careful about the chunking with the TO soft rears.

I sort of want to avoid the softs because I do about half of my driving on realy rough, gravely concrete.

I cant get my foams (TO foams F:H & R:M) to grip for some reason on asphalt.

I run the stock hardness fronts (well now I have the stock rears on the front after my alum universal slid a pin locking a wheel and massively flatspotted one front tire at 35+ mph last night on my first s400 and 8cell run) and soft rear rubber hpi tires. If im even at half speed (on the s300 6cell and now s400 8cell) and gun it, the car will kick out sideways.

I have started with foams on every paved surface Ive run then quickly put the rubber tires on. They grip very nicely with my setup.
