Question team orion elite motor

I'm new to this micro thing so I naturally have a few questions. I've been thinking of buying the brushless team orion motor(elite mod.) but i'm not sure if it is any good because all I ever hear is speed 300 this and 280bb that. Is this motor worth spending $50 bucks on? I really like the low maintanince([sic] lol)that the brushless motors have to offer, are ther any other brushless motors? I know of the mamba but haven't heard anything about it yet. Um.... Also does anyone know of a good web site, or other resource, that teaches masking techniques(I want to paint something cool you know)? Finally does anyone know where to get purple anodized upper A arms (HPI stock part#73406) for my micro, I've seen a car pic with them but can't find them for sale anywhere.

First of all ...the team Orion motor is not brushless...it's coreless... true brushless motors are maintainance free, very powerfull and small...but they are also very expensive... the Team Orion motor has brushes that may need to be replaced after a while.

The TO motor is the best small sized motor you can find that will fit w/o modification and w/o having to use special controllers and the like (like a brushless)...but the 280 and the 300 offer higher RPM...and are generally faster on the same number of cells...but you need to purchase a special motor plate to mount them.

As far as the painting stuff goes...you should be able to do a search here and fins a good resource and well as the upper arm piece you were looking for (or you could try eBay)
