WOW, Sn33ky...if you go back and check the post, this is about all I know of it...LOL. So far, I am reconfiguring batteries and still need to paint it. As far as the servo, Alfred has one for me. It uses a mini-type (HS65 might work for you). The one I have in it is a Futaba S3003. It works fine for a MRS4, but is too big for this. The HS55 I use in my mini-T is way too small.
Just looking it over, I think a weak point might be the rear shock tower. It's kind of thin. The front one is pretty stout. It has CVDs, ball diffs and full bearings...I haven't run it yet, so I'll post any reliability issues as they happen.

Sorry to hear about your RC18T. Historically, Associated cars are very well built. I had an original (gold tub) RC10 for 14 years...I made a couple of minor upgrades early on, and it never broke.

Correction, SN33KY....I think the HS65 may be too small, as well. I looked at a Hitec catalog and the specs are very close in size. I would have to say the Hitec HS81MG, or similar size, may be more of what's needed.

Hey bud....I got that info from the base hobby shop. They don't have much, but they pulled the Hitec catalog and let me compare. I ended up going to Debbies today to work out the pinion issue. The stock Recoil pinion is slightly longer, and fits better. They only had a 12t, so I'm a little limited until they get more....Also, I'm painting the body today....Let's just say it's a departure from my norm...

wow nice!

HS81MG?

Wouldnt the HS82MG be a better choice?

I think they are the same size.. not sure.. but i heard issues about the 81mg having centering issues...

Thanks, SN33KY....The servo issue is getting into unfamiliar territory with me...The only Hitec item I've ever bought was a HS55 for my Mini-T...I'm actually a Futaba loyalist, unless I can't find one to fit. I'm only going off the info I got from a Hitec catalog the LHS had.

The Hitec centering problems have been done away with......they came out with better micro servos that should not have this problem at all......that is unless you have an old one. Great job on the paint job man....looks good.

Thanks man...I was wanting regular gold spray paint, but 2 hobby shops didn't have any...This is the Spastix color change paint...looks almost clear when you spray it on, then you back it with black...wierd stuff. It goes from gold to almost burgundy, depending on the light.

Now, I just need to charge batteries and run it.
