can you please take a picture of this car next to an MRS4

=D

and run a123 cell batteries.. they dont have much of a voltage dropoff...

and their really realiable! and you can charge them at like high Amps...

I have 3 packs in my m18...

I just use Back and Decker VPX cells =]

Here you go... It's somewhat larger than the MRS4, but not as big as a 1/12 pan car. The servo mounting has to be the most difficult I've ever seen. You have to disassemble most of the front end to attach the linkage. The servo in the pic was out of the MRS4...For being a larger car, there's actually less room to work with.

Update on the build: servo choices are pretty thin. The Futaba S3003 I used in the MRS4 is too large for this car (go figure), while a Hitec HS55 for a mini-T is WAY too small. I checked the website for the RTR version, and the receiver/ESC is one unit (similar to Mini-T). However, the Novak Spy ESC does fit nicely on the upper chassis brace. Also, this version has an alloy motor mount designed for quick change and supposedly accepts a "wide variety" of motors up to 380. I had to grind the motor shaft area on the mount with a dremel due to the bushing size on a Big Block (300) was keeping it from mounting flush...easy fix. Next, I don't like the gear mesh with the spur. The facing of the gears do not align well. Anyone knowing of a company making deeper pinions in the micro pitch, please let me know....more updates as they happen.

Yeah, but not without a couple of headaches...I could kick myself for not taking the servo you offered me. I didn't need it at the time, but it may be mandatory for this. Also, I may need to go to Debbies to see what type of pinions they use....Other than that, I've been rebuilding battery packs today...Did you get a lot of the rain today?...It poured here.

Thanks man..I really appreciate it. ....I'll tell you, some things on this car had me asking "Who the hell is David Spashett, and I bet he doesn't work on his own car." ...LOL

Here's some early chassis pics...Note the gear mesh with the spur. Also, that steering servo probably won't hold up long.

Looks good man......yes i can see the pinion and spur.....might need a motor with a longer shaft or another pinion with a long neck....

I was hoping someone made long neck pinions...I have 3 Bigblocks, so I don't want to buy any motors yet, if I can get away with it.

BTW...I haven't painted the body yet...I'm debating silver with a red wing and striping...something simple.

I'm basing it on what I have in the garage. Silver is neutral, so I can change decals and it'll go with anything. Besides, pink wouldn't look too good going through the fence...

LOL DAMMIT!

should of gotten this instead of the RC18T

im having soo many problems with that piece of crap.. especially with the diff which isnt machined right .

anyways its all in pieces now ready to be put together with a new cf chassis...

anyhoo

are these cars durable? like does it break easily if i put a brushless system into it?

and have you run it on the road yet?... i ran my m18 on the road with a chassis protector and it wasnt a good ride...due to the small wheels and sticks...

and what servo are you going to go with?

would the HS65MG be good? or the futaba s3102mg?
