Hi Dan,

A couple of question s on the materials used - Quasi Grade 1.5mm carbon graphite and G10 fiberglass. Why the choice between the 2 materials? What's the difference in each?

Fiberglass is like epoxy, it is more flexible but also strong and much cheaper. But is this for the chassis or only the rear end pieces ?
I did not read the whole story.......

I think the chassis is Carbon Graphite and the rear pods in either CG or G10.

It reads.."The chassis was CAD-designed and CNC-machined out of Quasi Grade carbon graphite ...."

And then..."SLEEPER RS480 SPECIFICATIONS
• CAD-designed and CNC-machined to 0.05mm tolerances
• Cut from Quasi Grade 1.5mm carbon graphite and G10 fiberglass in limited production quantities"...

The entire chassis is made out of carbon-graphite (carbon fiber) which will include:
  • Main Lower Plate
  • Battery Rails (x2)
  • Front Upper Deck
  • Middle Upper Deck
  • Rear Deck
  • M480 Motor Plate
The rest of the pieces are cut out of both carbon-graphite and G10 fiberglass:
  • 14MM-150WB Rear Pod
  • 12MM-150WB Rear Pod
  • 12MM-140WB Rear Pod
  • 10MM-140WB Rear Pod
  • Rear Pod Brace
That gives you a total of 8 tuning styles for each wheelbase. And the chassis is compatible with the VCS shock so you have a whole bunch of spring rates and oil weights to tweak with as well. Not to mention the kit is compatible with the stock Micro RS4 shock and we include an aluminum preload spacer to further tune the stock shock.

I must mention that even though we have the 140mm WB rear pods, they are only designed to work with 300, 280, and 180 motors. We really wanted the 400, and 480 motors to fit in the 140WB kit, but no matter how much we tweaked it, the motors were just too big and there just wasn't enough space. But we really wanted to do a 140WB chassis, because there are so many great bodies that are 140, that we did it anyway. We wanted the chassis to be as compatible as possible with lots of bodies and lots of motors. Now you've got almost every option available except for putting in a 540 motor.

We will be selling all the tuning rear pods separately as well as the graphite and G10 rear pods braces but everything else in the kit is sold as a whole kit.

Hope that answers some of your questions, and the pre-sale will begin very soon. And thanks for the great comments! We appreciate it.

how about a GM V4R? handles up to 10 cells & 14T motor limit, if I remember correctly.
