foam tires for Vendatta

Went to a new place tonight, carpet track. great place, brand new. They are going to have a 1/18 touring class (RC18R) BLAAAAAAAA . I need to find foam tires mounted on wheels that will fit my Vendetta. A touring body too. Any ideas?
Thanks

look for wheels that take a 12mm hex.. mostly all 10th scale wheel will accept this hex.. just look for one that has foam tires.. or put your own on there.. just make sure you true the tires....

actually go to this site and ask the guys there... the uk is full of carpet tracks and they will be able to help the most.. http://www.uk-microrc.co.uk/forum/in...?showforum=192

if it were dirt i could tell you,, but im not a carpet/onroad guy

I found a lot of them on Tower, lots of them with 12 MM hex. Everything seems fine except they are all too wide. The wheels on the Vendetta are 21MM wide and everything for the 1/10 are 28mm wide. I does not look like there is room for the extra 7 mm to clear everything. I am very tempted to buy a set of these from Tower and sand-grind-cut the back edge off till they clear everything.
BTW the Vendetta got here today and it is in BRAND NEW condition. I have only run it a little and I can already tell I like it better than the RC18MT I had. For the time being, (READ WHEN I GET A LITTLE MORE MONEY) I am going to run everything pure stock to see what happens. It actually runs very good this way. I remember when I got the RC18 it would not even steer in stock condition.

Probably Spektrum, Novak SPY, Better, smaller steering servo, The upgraded motor from Duratrax. Not going overboard.

If you have access to a tire truer you can true the diameter down to size plus you can easily trim them to 21mm width. It's quite easy actually.

I went ahead and ordered a set of tires/wheels from Tower. I don't have a tire truer yet. I also ordered the 13 tooth pinion. so that will help a little on the bigger diameter. I won't really know where I am till I run the track.
BTW here is a link to some pictures and some video of the opening night. We were all invited to just come see the track and get acquainted. I think it is going to be great. It did seem a bit crowed with 5 stadium trucks running at the same time.

This is the tires I ordered.

I found these adapters on Tower.

I know they are made for a Mini Quake, but does anybody know if they will fit a Vendetta too?

If your planning o nusing the like of RC18T wheels...then don't as I think the inside diameter of the RC18T wheels is too small and won't clear the rear hubs!

ON the TC wheels/tires...I don't think you'll need to make them narrower to fit, unless it for tuning purposes

I used Tamiya/HPI and Express wheels on my Blaze (UK version) but had to grind away some of the rear hub and rear wishbone so they didn't rub !

My intentions are to try some MINI T wheels. They might not fit either.
Thanks

I personally would say they won't fit!

It might be a idea if you know someone with a Mini T or RC18, is to ask if you can lend one of there wheels and put it up against your Detta and see if theres any way it will fit

I'm NOT too sure if the Trinity wheels will fit ie the revolver (sp) wheel as they seem a lil bigger than std Mini T and 18T wheels

**EDIT**

The inside diameter of a RC18T (Mini T) wheel is 31mm

Hmmmmmmm I have my Vendetta here on the bench. The inside diameter of the wheel is 37mm. Outside of the stock wheel-tire is 58mm.
I don't have the MINI T here yet. I hope the big brown toy truck will bring it today.
Do you have the inside diameter of a 1/10 touring car wheel for a TC3 or TC4 or one of them?
Thanks for the help
Ron

Hi Ron,

Sorry I don't own a 10th TC....so I'm unable to measure the inside diameter for you!

The Mini wheels I talked about before (on previous reply) they have a inside diameter of:

Yeah racing Mini wheel = 34mm these will rub on the rear hub and wishbone
HPI 5 spoke wheels = 36mm and I beleive they work OK without having to grind anything (I've not tried these as I sold my Blaze before I bought these wheels!!)

10th TC wheels are gonna have a larger inside diameter I'd guess around 60 - 65mm

Hope that helps?

Lee

I just received my Vendetta yesterday . Basically popped it out of the box, threw some touring car foams on it, changed to a 13t pinon and dropped it on the track.

I am very pleased with it so far.

The inside diameter of the TC wheels that I have are 46.76mm, the width is 30mm.
Bought a used tire truer off of flea-bay. Should have them turned downed for the next race.

Stew
