car never drove to my liking, I tried both the gpm and the hpi ball diffs and always went back to a nice stocker, helps with turn in tremendously to have a friction free rear diff with a 1-way front diff to help with exit speed.

it's been a long time, I posted it on here in the past if you search for it though.
I can't find the pictures on my computer, but I probably have them somewhere.

Hey man!
Haven't been keeping tabs on your micro progress, but its lookin pretty good!
I think I will keep my micros in semi retirement... ROFL! I would like to race them again with Fabguy, but to add in another class. I will already have two Recoils to start with.
Have you been up to the track with them yet..??

Hey, I've been to the track once. Trying to make it out again this Saturday (I need softer rear tires!). You should race the Micro, how many category is Fabguy runnng? lol.
Damn the brushless in Fabguy's car is fast!! But not sure if it will be that important in the infield part of the track.

Which car was he running? his old one or the new one he just bought/built? He has a true "Pro" car now. Before his was a "pro-ish" looking build and that thing was a freakin bullet.
Last year he was in 3 classes, micro, recoil, 1/12th pan. He thought about getting an offroad to just do ALL the classes, however for marshalling that isnt far that he isnt on the track helping out that often.
Which is one reason why I only feel like racing one class. However, racing in two classes would be time spent better out there....(ie more track time).
But I know w/o an Xray kit and brushless of some sort, my micro rs4 will only follow him.. heh.

He wasa running his m18 (not Pro). They should ban brushless for Micro racing
Not sure if I asked you this before but where do you get your micro tires? I think that is the biggest problem I have at the track, not enough grip. But then again I tried running two cars on two different chassis and they both handle completely different

The ARM pan chassis was nice and dirt cheap when compared to other brands. I tried a setup with a 5-cell 2/3AA battery pack down the center of the chassis. I mounted the lighter receiver and ESC on the sides.
I later used a Penguin R/C battery tray and rigged it so that I could attach a battery & plate with screws to avoid having to use tape.

cool thanks for the picture. So you used tape to tape the battery down before? That's what I have to do at the moment. It seems like the ARM Pan chassis doesn't have much mounting holes (none for servo, battery, etc) so did you have to drill your own holes?

On the chassis in my first picture, I used Shoe Goo to adhere a small piece of foam rubber that I scalped from an old mouse pad to act as the base for the battery. I used the fiberglass packing tape to hold the battery in place.
With the second picture, I used the Penguin R/C battery plate. I used Shoe Goo to adhere the 6-cell stick pack to the plate and then wrapped with the same fiberglass tape. To keep it on the chassis I used a small bolt that came with the plate.
I had to cut my own slots and drill my own holes as the stock ARM chassis plate has none.

The piece of foam keeps the battery from slipping in the event of an impact or roll.
