Hey.

Well, don't worry. You can def. lower your charge time in diff. ways. So, don't dissmiss your purchase of a Propulse simply due to charge time
1. you can buy quick chargers from your local hobby shop (I did this and I can charge mine in about 20 minutes I think.
2. You can go to your local Radio Shack and buy their quick charger by propulse.
3. There are some threads that tell of diff. chargers you can purchase online.

Hope this helps!

Also, can I get deans ultra plugs?

The biggest cells that RS sells is 1400mah but I don't think there is a max limit for mah that can be used (but the highest mah the 2/3a battery cell I've seen is 1500mah) but I'd be more worried about is the voltage.

I installed deans plugs on two of the pro-pulses I have. Those you can get from Tower or most better LHS's.

Thanks guys. I was reading somewhere on this forum about someone using a 6 cell 3300 and he ran it for like an hour and a half but the motor fried.

So smc 6 cell ib 1400 battery packs would be good right?

And anymore advice on bigger mah in 6 cell battery packs that worked good and nothing happened to the motor or esc would be great.

I have DuraTrax IntelliPeak AC/DC Twin Pulse Charger for my e maxx and was wondering if that could charge one of the ib 1400?

Probably didn't have enough cooling for the motor. The heat from continous running will damage the motor, I love the smell of melted epoxy in the morning.

Yes, I use the batteries between my RC18 and Pro-pulse with no problems. Just had to change the plugs so they are both the same (I'm using Deans on mine.)

If you are planning the big mah batteries then I would gear the motor pinion as low as you can (I go 9t) and a heat sink on the motor. I know that there is a heatsink with fan that will work with the Pro-Pulse electronics (plugs into receivers empty slot.) I think it's made by 3racing and sold by thetoyz.com.

I believe i should work, but if you are worried either read the manual or check the specs from Duratrax's web site.

peak charging settings

hi, i just purchased the duratrax piranha digital peak charger and i was wondering what the settings should be. there is no documentation from propulse on how to charge, as expected, but there was very limited info from duratrax.

i am using the original 1200 battery from propulse, and i just cut my original charger lines so i could plug it directly into the battery.

i have set the mAH to 1200
0.5 A
8mV/C

i don't want to blow up my batteries, but it seems like i'm not getting a full charge on the batteries. i'm only running for 5 minutes then it dies.

a couple of questions.
should i be using different connectors, deans?, what will those connectors do for me?
what should i do to my settings to improve battery life?

i have done searches, but i need to learn what i need to look for first.

thanks for any help

I'm using the Dynamite Prophet Plus LCD and I set it between 1 and 1.2 amps charge rate for my 1200 and 1400 batteries. I wouldn't go higher until the battery has been cycled several times and 2amp is as high as I might go. At 1 amp the battery will take about hour and half to charge.

Charging at half amp will take longer but should give you longer run times.

You can also charge the cells at 2amps for more punch.

I personally wouldn't try that until the batteries have been cycled 5-6 times first.

Just as long as you dont go over 2amps you should be fine.........charging at 2amps will give you more voltage output then lets say charging at 1amps, but charging at 1amp will also give you more runtime as well.
