Motor???

I was just wondering if anyone has put any thought into the upgrading of the motor in these things. it would be great if we could put a brushless in but I'm not the guy to be asking for anything on motors, sizes or anything... Help

Compared to the size of stock 180 motor it looks to me like a 130.....i would try a hot mini z motor, i dont know how it would mount on the motor plate though.

The stocker is a sub-130 sized motor. Probably like the Mini-Z sized motors.

Someone placed a 130 motor next to the stocker, and they are close in diameter, but the 130 has a longer can.

If it's just the length, then fitament shouldn't be a deal breaker

With the other guy dropping that Feigao in there, the motor options are slowly growing. The shaft size was the same as stock, so thats always good. He re-used one stock mounting hole, and elongated another to get it in there.

its a 10t, and im sure the stock ep would handle it fine. the mini-t's ep could handle a 540. but well have to see. that will be in my second of upgrades. but if you would buy this now and report back to us that would be great... if it fries or messes up your ep i will repace yours for free cause im buying a new esc for mine anyways.

That's a good find m_18 off of tower. Just to let everyone know that I know for a fact that new motor plates to accept mini z sized motors are in the works as we speak. These are the same company's with aftermarket parts for the mini z's. Once those are here it will be the end of story for the motor power dilema. I can only assume others will be making plates fo mamba conversion too. What is taking them so long???

Motor power dilemma?? Wherever you read that the Micro-T's got a weak motor, well they're a bit mistaken.

Here's a good read, with actual test results, that shows that the stock motor actually has some balls:

Namuna,

1st of all kudos to ph2p for the post. he's something else.

i used the word "dilemma" as a figure of speech for those micro t people who inevitably will be upgrading for more power. I abseoutely agree that the original motor is surpisingly powerful. however mate a semi mod 130 sized motor to a spy and I don't think we need comparison predictions. As an added advantage the minor cogging should disappear too giving a throtle feel of a larger scale car.
