i got the cvd's today . they're really skinny. are they lighter than the stock dogbones and drivecups combo?? i don't have a scale so i kinda weighed em in my hands and they felt like it, but i wanna make sure. i haven't gotten to drive the truck with them yet because somehow i broke the stock servo saver so i gotta wait til later tonight when we go to the hobbyshop to get another one.

oh yea here's the picture

cool, should be putting an order in for some of these soon too. Let me know how it goes when you get a chance to drive it.

The CVD's are way better then the stock dogbones, you will never have to worry about losing them when you land hard.....and the stub axles are also made of hardened steel unlike the stock stubs.

There made out of hardened steel, dont know how much of a weight issue compared to the aluminum dogbones.....but the aluminum dogbones are lighter. The real reason people go with the MIP's because of it's durability, and the fact they dont fall out.

yea thats exactly why i went with em, had em on my nitro forever and they are still running like new. i guess the extra weight doesn't really matter since it's so little. reason why i was wondering was because i want to make this a race truck. . . i was lookin at the j concepts illusion body for racing but do all those extra curves really help with aerodynamics or is it just looks?

Well unless you're running a nitro, even considerable difference in weight of drivetrain parts isn't making a difference. Nice RC18 man. I love my RC18B. I just can't run it because of the rain here in South FL... Fun to wheelie on carpet.

Yeah I noticed that, It's because of all that grip with the dirt tires. Some times I hear a grinding noise though, so I stopped becasues I don't want to mess up the drivetrain.

well for more diff friendly indoor fun you can make some ramps out of cardboard boxes . just turn it so that it's on it's side and cut one hole side but don't cut the bottom. then like roll the side you cut so that it's nice and beny. then just tape it to the bottom piece and poof you've got a nice kicker.
here's mine

with the tall brown one i can jump over my couch with a 10 foot run up to it . and the really wide small one is for outside mostly so i can hit it full speed
