Zip Tie Tie Rod

I did the tie rod fix and made it out of a zip tie. Works great except for i think my steering got a little irratic. Has anyone experienced possibly slower return rate for the wheels to go back to centre. i'm not a rookie to R/Cing so it isnt because i am not use to it but it feels like it turns really really sharp sometimes and normal other times. Toe out / in is perfect and i havent really messed with anything else on the truck. could the holes for the screw's be too tight. any suggestions would help thanks guys!

It could be the screws are a little too tight.

I used a zip tie steering link for one run, I broke a knuckle on the run. I now use guitar picks for the steering links, they are thinner (flex easier) but very strong. The set I have one the car has been there for about 4 months.

Gitar picks? Sounds intresting. Got some pix to share....

How hard was it to cut them up? They should also be fairly inexpensive right? Thanks

I picked up a 12 pack of picks at a music store for under $5.00 but I think you can get them singly or cheaper packs anywhere they sell guitars. If you have a friend who plays ask him for one.

I cut mine out with a hobby knife and filed the corners and rough edges. I used a small drill (called a pin-vise) to make the holes.

Place the master steering link onto the guitar pick.
Using the hand drill go though one hole on the master though the pick.
Using a spare screw screw both down.
Repeat drilling procedure for second hole.
Using Hobby knife to cut around the master link.
Unscrew and file the new link smooth.

I saw a YouTube video of how another person did his, I think my way is easier.
