I have a kinda offtopic question, is it nesscary to run plugs with the motor. When I got my 1/10th durtrax intellispeed and just cut off the plugs and soldered it directly to the motor and I have noticed a small increase in speed.

And another question, is it worth it to get a an upgraded motor or to just go to a higher pinion.

Theres nothing wrong with hotwiring the leads to the esc at all....some prefer it that way.....if your happy with the motor that you have now then i suggest highering the pinion tooth.

the downside to plugs is they can come undone or they make a lousy connection (robbing the motor of power)

The upgraded motor depends on what your current motor is. Some stock motors are dogs....

when going to a larger pinion you must check the motor, esc and battery pack for excessive heat....I suggest going one or two teeth at a time.....
