Duratrax Mini-Quake for cheap?
What are your thoughts?
http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...ducts_id=10364
price seems in line with what a mini-quake should be worth without electronics, as thats all it appears to be.
*edit - nevermind, shipping being at $40 puts this right in the same ballpark as a mini-quake with full electronics so no point.

I've found these guys shipping charges a little over the top.
Shipping from HK is not that expensive, so I guess they use this to make their revenue.

I hate it when pple charge more than what the actual shipping charges are. Especially on eBay. They charge 29.99 when its actually less than 15!

They are referring to the Anderson Electronics RE-branded knock off. It is the same truck, with out the duratrax name, ESC, RX, Servo, radio etc...
If you really do some digging, you will find that for every RC type of truck coming out lately, there is a rebrand company using the truck, or is already building it for Duratrax or Trinity etc, and selling without the "marketing" name on it.
The Anderson Truck IS THE EXACT same truck!
Basically you get the truck (most important part) and motor.
Perfect for people who already have an FM radio that they like to use.

Cowhizzi,
The Mini-Quake is a great RC 18th scale truck. Just like many other newer RC vehicles, there are always areas that we, the "aftermarketeers" can improve on the truck.
There is no other truck provides the true "Monster Truck" look, so this is a benefit of the MQ. And the MQ is the only truck on the 18th scale market that provides you a 400 size motor, STOCK! That is nice....
I have experience with it, both brush motor and Brushelss motors, and the truck has a great setup. Shaft Drive, 8 oil filled shocks (might be a bit overkill), gear diffs, 400 size stock motor, and it uses the same style of battery packs that the M18 uses.
As far as performance, I have had GREAT luck with the ones i have. I did finally bust my outdrives tonight (a week point on the truck), but i was running a mamba 68k BL motor though. That setup will/can break a lot of cars' drivetrains.
Performance upgrades.....you are starting to see them trickle out on the market. Alum CVD's, Graphite chassis, street tires, etc. are all about out...which will increase the performance and strength of the truck.
