Yeah, we're all dissapointed but we all know we are getting one as soon as they come out! The front is a lot different than the micro, I don't think that many parts will be interchangable between the two cars. Maybe if we're lucky trinity will read this and change it............yeah right.

Trinity Clone

Yup, to copy someone elses idea is just complimenting them in a different way.

That TRC Bantam is definitely a Micro clone in so many aspects.
The pictures are a little vague, but it seems as if it also ships with a 180 motor too.
If theyre cheap enough, I'd like to try one, but if they are the same price as a Micro, well then I'd rather spend the cash on my Micros.

Here's a list of the victims:
HPI Rs4 micro
Gm mr4
Ferrari F-50 (they've stolen the whole front supension idea of this car.)

I think its a waste of RnD money and time! They should fire their entire Marketing dept. for allowing that UGLY-ASS car to get out the door!

Yes, we all agree that it may not be the prettiest car out there.
And that it may not be a leap in technology.
But finally some competition!

Now maybe the Micros can get a recognized class for
some serious racing! (hear that ROAR and NORRCA!)

Who knows, it may handle like a dream.
And I am sure with Trinity behind it,
Hop ups and Mod stuff is on the drawing board.

Maybe HPI will have to come up with
something new too.

Now lets see if Brian races one at SoCal
on 6/7.

Hang on to your hats folks it's gonna get
real interesting soon!

It's Trintiy, it's going to be more expensive, even though its a knock off. They're $114.99 USD, that's like $35 more than the cheapest micro I've seen on the net.

I wouldn't exactly call the Micro "gracefull" in stock form. Its a bunch of molded plastic parts (mainly refering to upper and rear deck) and a basic fiberglass chassis. It looks like the Trinity car has a fiberglass upper and lower deck, rear deck, and they combined some parts to simplify the kit a little more. That should make for a fairly solid car in stock form. I also like the look of the front suspension. From the pic it does not look like the suspension nor the chassis will be interchangable (notice the extra suspension mount screws in the front of the chassis). Its not a major change and it looks like current Micro parts could be mounted on that chassis but current micro chassis' would need a minor redesign to fit this car. (**edit** I looked again at the chassis pics in the "Micro Science" forum and I was think I was wrong about the chassis. It looks like it will work with just 2 or 3 extra holes drilled. **edit**) I don't care for the way the battery is mounted, but that is such a simple fix I won't elaborate.

I think it was best stated above that this (if nothing else) gives people a choice in the 4wd 1/18th scale micro market. People didn't want to compare the BRP and the micro b/c they are so different, now this is an outcast b/c its too much alike.

Finally, looking at this car I would not be suprised if Trinity either bought the design from GM, or has worked some sort of deal to produce and sell the cars here (since GM didn't appear to have plans for import). The way Trinity has been going these days I wouldn't be suprised if they bought the whole company (GM that is). They seem to have their hands into everything now.

Personally I will not buy one, but thats b/c I'm satisfied with what I have, not that I dislike the car. If someone brings one to the track and tears my micro a new.... well, you know, then I might see about getting one.

sorry for the long post....

I've found another con. one the trinity:
A GM mr is almost exactly the same as the reflex 1/18 trinity.
The gm costs $89
The trinity costs $120
That's about $31 diffirence for almost the same !!!

Bantam

Yup,, MMTM does make some valid points.
I guess we'll wait and see, it will only ber a matter of time before a YourMicro Member buys one and does an autopsy on it.
I certainly hope that Bantam owners will be welcomed here by YM Members. Hell, if they need a place to hang, we can always start a Bantam Forum for them

The only different thing is that the GM already exists for over a half year. Trinity is I think the clone !
