Cool `The P3500 LM is complete!

P3500LM FINISHED!

After months in the making my Micro RS4 is finaly finished. Here is the car's set up:

  • Penguin P3500 LM Chassis
  • Graupner Speed 300 motor
  • Moped V16R High Frequency ESC
  • Intelect 1400 miliamp cells @ 1.2v
  • TOPCAD aluminum wheels on TRC hard racing slicks
  • GPM front one way diff.
  • GPM ball diff.
  • Team Orion 14t pinion gear
  • Traxxas stock servo (high torque)
  • GPM front dampers
  • HPI Steel Front Universalsnew
  • Associated 18t rear VCS Shocknew
  • Spektrum SR3000 Recievernew
  • Custom aluminum motor mount
  • home made belt tensioner

I forgot to order a 300 size motor mount with my chassis so I made my own out of aluminum. I also made a belt tensioner in the rear so there would not be as much whip lash, especially with all the wires I've got lying around now.

i'd watch your belt...hopefully the tensioner isn't pushing the belt too close to the pinion - if its a touch too close, you're are going to be wearing out that belt WAY to fast

The belt and pinion are both rolling well. They just look close because of the angle of the picture.

And also, what do you think of the motor mount?

Dang that looks good, great job on the motor mount.....so did you run er in yet....and what body do you plan on using on that beauty. Now all you need to do is get rid of the Tamiya plugs and put on some Deans.....it will make your setup that much cleaner.

Yes, the motor is broken in and the ESC runs great with the car. I've go ta few bodies for it like the RAD CLK-GTR1 and the 360. I'm just working on the Ferrari for now when I get the time. I'm gonna try and make my own decals for it too. I also want to run some speed tests today to see how fast she'll go.

Here's another pic
can't help it, it's just so beautiful!

Just what I was about to ask. You know, less resistance, and more "beutifuler".

Yeah I think I will, but i'm going to have to geta Deans converter for my charger. I need a good VCS shock too if any one has a suggestions for a good one.

Another thing, I'm going to have to work on the radio situation. The car was fine when I did break-in in my garage, but when I got it out in a big lot I started to get interference and glitching.

Took off like a rocket though, love it.

Some members have been using the 18t front shock for the rear......as for your little glitching problem your battery wires are right on top of your rx antenna wire.....switch them around and hope that the glitching goes away.

Yeah, the 18t. Didn't think of that, any way I don't know if I'm ready to buy one yet.

p.s.
The body is coming along well.

Dogbones Exploded

I was doing doughnuts in my garage and all of a sudden there were black bits flying out of the car. I kept driving thinking that they weresomething that got picked up off the ground. But then I noticed a change in how the car handled. By the time I figured out that the plasic was coming from the car, TOO LATE. The main piece had shot out.

Any suggestions as to why this happened?

Alfred any ideas?

I've never seen a micro break any thing from stress like that.

Thats the first thing i tell people to upgrade are the dogbones.....as with any micro you get a lot of stress put on the front drivetrain especailly if your using a oneway........it seems that the stock bones dont hold up too much.......get yourself a pair of steel or aluminum universals and that should take care of the problem.

O.K. thanks, I wasn't sure because in some situations the aluminum bends or breaks any way and it's cheaper to just replace plastic every week.
