S15 Silvia- Candy Blue Metalflake..(dial-up might get owned)

Hey guys. Id like to show you my Micro RS4 S15 Silvia drifter. Its a candy blue with HEAVY metal flake. My POS digital camera cannot take pictures that truly show how deep the color is. For some reason, the color in the pictures look light and crappy. The color is similar to the old Greddy R33 Skyline with the heavy metal flake. If you have no idea what I mean, look at Lowriders, bass boats, Carnival kiddie rides...you'll get the the idea.

Here are a few pictures that I took to kinda give you an idea of what the flakes look like...

Damn that is nice!

What type of paint did you use?

And where did you get the Silvia GT body from? Locally?

Nice Job!

Thanks Xtant3150c, you really got to see the body in person, it blew me away when I took the mask off, the pictures do no justice, if you go to Costco, ill bring it by.....there has to be a way to adjust the color on my camera....I used Pactra candy blue as my top coat, indy silver as my base and backed it with metallic black, and believe it or not, I had to back that up with undercoating from the local CHecker auto, just to make sure the flake wont come off. Needless to say, it is a heavy body.......Eric has got the Silvia's comming in next month, but I couldnt wait that long so I bought mine from rcboyz.com , you should check them out, cheap shipping to Hawaii. Although I will buy another body from Cronic when they come in, gotta support the LHS!

Thanks! Blue is my favorite color too. I remember you asking me about doing a blue paintjob on a silvia back when I posted pictures of my AE86, this was the car.

Thanks! I really wish my crappy expensive digital camera could take a picture of how the color REALLY looks like. You would see that the color looks WAY different than in the pictures here which sucks.

That paint is HOT . Is it only for airbrush, or also in spraycans sold?

Only the flake was done with the airbrush, all the backing colors were can. The pictures dont do justice on how deep the color is. My digital camera sucks lol

VERY NICE!!

One of the best trim (wheel wells and bottom of body) jobs i have seen yet!

Also very nice detail on getting it centered on the car, and more imporantly, filling the width out in the wheel area!

GREAT JOB!!!

Thanks! I wanted to use my Hardcore aluminum wheels, but they are not width adjustable, so I had to go back to my stockers. Getting the body centered is really important on HPI bodies as you already know. The damn dimples HPI provides never line up lol....I really wish you could see the real color
