has anyone put a 540 BL in

just wondering if anyone has used this car with a gtb brushless or something similar.. seems that the can is a lil smaller than a brushed motor,, and you will get extended runtime..

i was either thinking of getting a 12th scale car and putting a brushless in it or redoing my micro 480 sleeper and get an upgraded 540 chassis to put my gtb 5.5 in it..

Once I did find this pic on the net:

I have a Lehner 1020/12 brushless in my 11 cell powered sleeper and it is fast enough......

What am I saying ??? It is never fast enough, over 2 weeks I will re-enter the oval with a Lehner 1020/10 and a reprogrammed ESC

I know this thread is old but thought it was cool that someone posted a pic of my car. I now have the new 540 chassis. I have a Hacker C40 5 Turn motor and barely fit the BK Warrior 9920 ESC on it. For batteries use maxamps.com's 2200mah 7.4v LiPo pack.

How does this beast run Study Session? And how do you keep from melting the gears and diffs?

I'm looking at the front bumper and it's looking mighty small right about now

Got any updated pix? It must be crazy fast with that C40 Hacker powered by a 2 cell. You're gonna need cement to keep those tires to the rims

Sorry but do not have any updated pics. I have it in the new 540i chassis. To be honest it is to hard to drive. I run with foam tires because even when I have the Lehner 540 motor in it, it was to much or even with the tiny little Mamba motor it also was to much for rubber tires. So had to switch to the foam tires. The rubber tires balloon up and shoot off the rims and that is on the ground not up in the air.

With the 540 brushless motors I have a hard time keeping the tires on the car since they just slide on so have to glue them onto the hub. I blow out the front diff's pretty easy. The rear holds up better just have to take it apart and reassemble every so often.

I do not run it to often anymore - Been messing more with my 1/10 scale onroad cars and my 1/18 offroad. After browsing around this forum the other day made me want to pull my 540 Micro back out and mess with it again. I most likely will go back to the mamba 8000kv motor though. Using the bigger LiPo pack should give me insane run times with the Mamba motor and that motor makes the car pleanty fast enough.
