Finally Goin Brushless....have some questions!

what do I need to go brushless, as far as powertrain hopups and chassis hopups? I will be running a 6-7 cell NiMh pack for now, and hopefully go lipo down the road ( no pun intended ) I have MIPs for the rear and am getting MIPs for the front, steel/ti turnbuckles are on the list as well. I have aluminum shock towers but am gonna sell those (if anybody wants them just email me at....

rcnathan@gmail.com

asking $25 shipped. The front ones have some scratches from flipping. Rear are in good condition.

I am going with CF shock tower, to reduce weight.)

I also have Alu. a-arms and am gonna keep those! I was thinking about getting a CF top-plate to stiffen some and a CF battery brace, or maybe a roll cage? Good to get? I am also gonna get a front bumper and a Alu. rear arm mount too. What else should I get?

Thanks!
Nathan

Ok I will put those on my list. Thanks alfred!

Plus what brushless system should I get. I have obviously heard alot about mamba, but now I have heard more and more about Quarks, and Jwerks stuff. I have been looking at the Quarks 33A system? What do you all think about it? It won the In-door offroads nationals this year, and it beat out a ton of mambas? The one thing I like about the mamba is the programablityl of it. I am thinking about going 6800 or 8000. Deffinatly not the 5400.......too slow. Please any input is welcome. What have you all learned from you MRS4 and M18? Thanks!

I dont think it will be that hard to program.......and at 33amps you should be able to handle about any motor out there for your micro.

Thanks alfred!

Should I buy the ESC sepretly, then buy the 8000kv motor from mamba? That way I have the motor I want and the ESC I want. Is that ok to do?

But of course thats okay man.....just make sure that you have spare's, doing speed runs puts a lot of wear and tear on the drivetrain.

Alright I will stock up on parts!!! I just love buying stuff! I would like to race at my LHS but we dont' have a micro track. I was so bummed. They were racing them but they said the micro traction rolled so bad that they stopped. :'( I just can't wait to get my truck up and going. I have had kids ask "if I can out run that thing can I have it?" and of course I say sure!!!!!! And I just blow them out of the water..........it's funny. Anyway sry that was off topic. Thanks alfred for the help!

Yea I will work on that..........

I can't figure out how to get the female plugs on the ESC. It looks like you have to solder them on there. The wire slides into the plugs, then there is a small whole that goes do to the exposed wire. Do I drop solder down to it? Is that how it goes on? I am really confused. I dont' really know how to explain it......
