.093 lexan is cheap and easy to use, carbon fibre in a sheet is more expensive but better...or aluminium sheet....easiest for a diy job is prob the lexan...

Epoxy is one of the best cheap materials to work with for making a chassis. You can even strip an old videocard from an old computer.. Aluminium is not adviseable.
A small piece of carbon is also affordable but you can contact .penguinrc for a cheap mismake chassis to fix it
Penguin rc also sells sheets of CF, but you need to use a low speed scroll saw to cut it. Have to be careful of the dust and shards. It is what I would use, just have to do some planning and take preventive measures (safety).
