A random fireball question:

There are two different types on eBay, link 1 and link 2. Are they the same motor with a different sticker, or should I go for the slightly more expensive one?

If you look closely at the pictures of the two motors you will notice that the 21T is a short can, exposed brush endbell and is double wound. The 370 is a slotted can with internal brush endbell identical to the Propulse motors and is most likely a single wind. Not knowing how many winds are in the 370 I couldn't tell you if it is faster or has more torque than the 21T.

I would go with the new Venom motor......it seems to have an open endbell and replaceable brushes as well.

I would have to agree with Alfred, an open endbell motor with replacable brushes is the way to go....

*BUT*

I don't think that the Venom Fireball 21T Double Motor 21 TURN MOTOR will fit! I think that that is for 1/10th scale not 1/18th like the Venom Micro Fireball Motor (which by the way states: "for Mini-T/RC18MT/Mini Giant")

So, if you really want to purchase a Venom, you'll have to get the Venom Micro.

I do hope you are talking about the Micro Fireball, because after seeing Erock's comment I realised he is right, the 21T Double Wind is for 1:10 scale R/C. It would be way too big to fit in your Propulse.

Yep, I'm talking about the Micro. What is the number designation for the 1/10 scale motors, anyways?

The number designation stands for the length of the motor can in mm, minus the endbell.

The typical 1:10 scale motor is designated as '540' (roughly 2 1/4 in.). Modified or high performance motor manufacturers usually drop the the number designation when naming them.

NOTE
the fireball micro 370p motor is NOT exactly the same as the stock megatech motor, the threaded holes on the front of the motor are closer to the center, and it will require slight modification to fit on the stock motor mount.
