Says 25 continuous... Also says 180 size limit... but does that apply for these castle motors? I would think they made them to work with high power 1/18 esc's.

25 amps should be enough......especially if your going to a lower KV rated motor.......I would also send Castle an email to see if the Tekin esc is recommended or could be used.

Okay I sent them an email. What KV would you suggest? 4600 or 6800? From what I read the smallest pinion I can get is a 15t, im assuming this is because the can will run into the upper chassis.

Took it out for the first run with the 7 cell battery.... thing is just stupid fast. Hard to keep it straight at high speed. Also think ill be investing in those steel diff gears soon here. When I hit the throttle semi hard I can hear them clicking.

If your using a computer radio you can set the throttle down....so when you pull on the trigger it will act just like a car accelerating.

Nah im still on the POS traxxas radio... I think ill try different torque curve settings to make it a little more easy on the get up. No way im gonna limit the top speed lol

Its not limiting the top speed at all....it works like when you accelerate a car......it uses steps when you pull the trigger. Let me put it this way when you pull the trigger all the way instead of going half the esc will take a lot of steps to get too high. Thats the best way i can explain it. It works well for high powered motors, and puts less strain on the drivetrain when you pull the trigger.

OOoo I think I know what you mean. Its like rolling into the throttle instead of going straight to 100%? Sounds like a good idea.... but my basic radio system wont do that... ill just have to train my finger to be a little smoother with things.

I heard back from castle. They said that the MC26 motor will work with my esc but to make 100% sure ask Tekin themselves. Sadly I wont be getting the motor though. Room mates are getting engaged and have decided they want to live on their own so I have to find a new place to live

But! I have ordered a set of steel diff gears for the rear, a spur gear cover, and a set of 13,14, and 15 tooth pinions from thetoyz. I need the diff gears badly, I have gone through two sets in 3 battery charges.

Bought another one....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I think I will be taking all the upgraded parts off this one and putting them on mine. I will keep the BL system for a spare and put my stock electronics on it and resell it to a friend or on ebay maybe. Not 100% sure yet....
