Great Planes Triton(review)

I got one of these because my older charger was not NiMh compatable. I chose the Triton because it is capable of charging different types includung LiPo's so I shouldn't need to upgrade. It is VERY
adjustable for battery types, charge rates, peak sensitivity, cycling, etc. Also it has a small fan for when discharging or when the charger's internal temperature exceeds it's preset limit. Speaking of temperature the Triton also has an optional thermal probe for monitoring pack temperatures. This is also adjustable.
Now the downsides: It's VERY adjustable and it takes awhile to get used to the menu architecture. Just keep the marginally usefull manual nearby for reference. The Triton is DC power only and comes with crude "jumper cable" style clips. Also it doesn't come with output cables-only banana jacks. You gotta make your own.
For an all-purpose charger it works great, especially for the cost.

Thumbs up More Praise for Triton

I also have use the Triton charger and I love it. It's the second best charger I have ever had; it's second the CE Pitbull I had. The menu system isn't that complicated, you'll get used to it quickly. Features that are especially nice are adjustable voltage cut-off for discharging, and you can adjust the charge/discharge current while it's charging/discharging. (This feature is very useful) It also has 10 memory files where you can store settings for up to 10 different types of battery packs. Just make sure you have a DC power source or a power supply. And about the charger leads, just go to Radio Shack and get some alligator clips for a couple bucks.

You need a power supply, which plugs into and AC outlet and gives you DC power. And yes, it works perfectly with any batteries.
