It seems that the upgrade axles made are mostly titanium. As a Tamiya F103x junkie I know they are a bad idea. Titanium might be slightly lighter-but even being a fairly large diameter THEY BEND EASILY!!! The carbon fibre axle is stought and won't bend. It would be nice to have 3 and 4mm carbon axles with light alum hub ends. Nuf said...

The axle itself is the easy part. The problem is with the original design not being able to "swap" axles. Tamiya F10x cars have 2 hub ends that set screw on to flat spots. The lightweight ones are aluminum and threaded on the ends for wheel retention. The one on the spur side is also machined and houses the entire ball diff assembly. No built in hub is used as with the stock and aftermarket axles.
