Reverse threaded nuts?

Im looking for a reverse threaded nut for my nitro micro project. I'm having alot of trouble finding what i need....

Anyone know where i can get a 8mm or 9mm reverse threaded nut?

I know thats a goofy thing to post a new thread about... but im desperate..

this is the last thing holding the nitro project up...

thanks

Try http://mcmastercarr.com I saw part number 93510A125 that might work. I'm sure they should have something for you.
They have lotts of good stuff!!! Shrinkwrap up the wazoo including adhesive lined and many materials. They also have a HUGE selection of zip-ties. Some are even radiation resistant for nuclear cooling tanks.

the whole point for this nut is to "lock" with another nut on the crank shaft to keep them from walking.

Would a "left hand" nut thread onto a standard screw? I don't see how..

wouldn't the thread on the screw have to be the opposite way also?

Correct:left-hand threaded nuts go on l-h
bolts or studs. When you asked about "reverse thread nuts" I logically thought that's what you wanted was a lht nut.
It sounds like you might mean a "jam-nut" which is nothing more than a thin nut that you tighten down after the first nut. Any decent hardware store should have that.

Here's two other options if a lock nut won't work:

1) Loctite
2) Drill a hole in the bolt and put a clip or pin in it.
