Okay......PSU stands for power supply unit.....in order to use AC like the wall outlet you will need to get one....it limits the current going into the charger. I like the specs of the Turnigy...and the price seems nice as well, the other link didnt really tell me much.

That makes sense now... Thanks

Now I see why you had suggested the chargers that you did. It makes much more sense to look further into those chargers as what I am really looking for is a charger I can plug in at home or at the track and not have to much programing needed to get the job done.

For the chargers you suggested, would I need any special connector to connect my batteries to it? Would I be able to use the stock plugs on the battery packs with the connections that come with these chargers or would I need to purchase or make a connection to do this?

***I believe, out of the chargers you suggested, I would prefer the Tower Hobbies AC/DC Digital Peak Charger

That is a nice charger....but remember that you can only charge nimh and nicad packs. Nope it should come with all the plugs already included with the charger....tamiya plugs are on everything. If you want a better plug then i would recommend changing them to Deans.

Ok...

I think this will be the charger I go with because I really don't plan on getting the LiPo for a while. I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, that I can run a brushless motor off these battery packs, not to there full potential of course.

Thank you for all your help.

You are correct....i would do as much reading on the safety and proper charging of lipos.....so this way if you decide to go that route at least you will be ready.

I did not read anywhere about this tower hobbies charger that said it does discharging... Is this something I need? Whats the easiest way to discharge these propulse battery packs?

You can always run the pack til its discharge if you want too......or buy a seperate discharge or you can make one of your own using light bulbs.

When you say run it to its discharge you mean until the car does not go anymore?
I drive them until they start to sputter. You think that's good enough?

Just wanted to see what you thought of this charger...

Megatech Peak AC/DC Charger

Found it while searching for chargers on amazon. It is cheaper than the tower hobbies charger, but not by much.

It looks good too me...small compact charger, the only thing is that you would not be able to adjust the mv settings on the packs. But yes it will do.

Good decision.....when you get into bigger scales that charger will have no problems charging 10th scale packs.
