I just got my Team Orion Elite Micro Mod motor and was testing it out when the car started to poop out. The ESC started to squeak really loud when I accelerated and the wheels wouldnt even spin out (even though I had tape on the tires). After recharging the batts and letting everything cool down I tried again but same result. Its not that the acceleration and speed is just slower, its almost dead. It feels like driving with dead batteries.
I suspect my ESC is dead since it screams everytime I try to acclerate now. Poor little ESC T.T
I have a Novak Spy esc which has a sticker on the front saying it is now rated higher than the original. I run 4 AA's which should be ok. The only thing different is the motor. I didnt install any capacitors on the motor since it says that they are pre-installed. I could always call Novak since my Spy Esc is within the 120 day warranty but I was wondering if you guys think that it is the ESC too.
Hmmmmm, i have never had this problem in my life of Rc's, did you check to make sure that the motor and battery polarities are right. Also check to make sure that the solder on the wire leads are strong and on the board. Would you be able to take a pic..........the last thing you can do is too try another esc........the newer version Spy will handle a up too a 300size motor so it should'nt be having any probems running a stock mod motor. And you might also try programming the esc again man.
The problem is the motor. There's something wrong with the brush contact. Open the endbell and check. I had the same problem with mine. I quickly threw it away because it served no real good for all the issues it caused.

Hehehe, I think I solved the problem. One of my batteries was malfunctioning I think. I used a different set of rechargables and all is well now! I get super runtimes of 1 hr +
Scared me a bit, expensive motor, expensive esc, one or the other broken T.T
Thanks for all the advice though!
SilverSupra, did you really just throw your motor away? Thats an expensive motor...
