RC18T - Exotek Tek18 Conversion

After watching the 18T sit lonely for a month or two, I decided to drive it... With the current setup I was not impressed at all. The car was and felt very heavy through turns, lots of lag from a start, not really a fun car unless the only thing i did which was fun was spinning the tires... Front diff wasn't working at the time either.

basically, I had an all aluminum car with a diggity designs chassis hodge podged together with a crappy 7 cell and a 4200 system, 1/10 tires and 14/60 gearing. This setup was great for a while then slowly i started to hate it.

Then the Exotek came to mind.

I was totally dreaming for this thing, and I had began parting the 18T... after a month i was left with half a truck and nothing to show for cash wise. I ended up trading the chassis and a few other parts for a micro-t, and traded the micro-t for an M18. I later sold the M18 and I was on my way.

I managed to scoop up a Mamba 8000 System off ebay. I called up RJ at The Toyz as soon as he got some exotek's in stock and placed my order (some 200$) to get the 18T done and over with.

I eventually got the package (a few days after) Including everything I wanted and then some. Prior to buying the exotek I had purchased new CVD's, new gearing, and some extra screws in preparation for this new chassis.

While putting it together, Everything fit like it was made by the air force... Everything was tight, but not too tight, and slipped in to place just like pieces in a puzzle. The only thing I regret is using GPM Gear boxes - although they are aluminum i broke a screw on one and had to remove it. After overcoming this I got the chassis slapped on for mock up purposes, and, with a little bit of time, Got everything set up and dialed in.

I would reccomend this to anyone who wants a great chassis, but the only problem with this is I had to break bank because most of this chassis doesn't like aluminum parts.

Thanks, I'm liking this board. I don't like busy forums but I dont like dead forums either. I think I'll stick around.

I'd have to send you something in return.

And with your wife expecting that's probably some added stress too.

Do you have anything you need or want in mind?
