I think 7.2 volts would be the ESC's limit with a stock motor. You can find some good battery packs at www.blindbatts.com, www.unitedrc.com or www.cheapbatterypacks.com.

You could also buy 6 2/3 sub c cells and make ur own pack, which may work out to be a bit cheaper.

EDIT: just saw that you were from sydney, like me.... look in ur local hobby shop which sells helis or planes. They should more than likely have 2/3 sub c cells in stock...and u may save a bit on shipping

Sorry theorbb, I think you need 2/3a's like the GP1100's for a stocker, not any kind of subc's i use 4/5 subc's in my 540 micro tho.

I think they're common cells, airoplane guys use them.

Brendan, the standard connection is a micro hpi style. Deans micro's are ok for replacement and so are deans ultras.

Ditto about where in syd. I'm coming down next weekend hopefully (taking my son to the aquarium). It'd be good to take my micro.

Should be right and yeah you get a tamiya adaptor better off if you dont use it tho. If you're unsure about a pack post up urls and i;ll have a look for you.

Theres a few on ebay. just make sure whatever packs have GP1100's in them. They're nimh tho so make sure your charger will be ok.

You can run 7.2volts with that esc with no probs at all.....did it all the time with a speed 300 motor.
