Broken part already!

I broke a part today, and it was only on its 3rd battery! Its one of the front axle's, and I wasn't even hard on it any! Noticed the front was pulling anymore, so held it up, and the front wheels weren't pulling under power. Tore the axle out and down, and it had snapped the right axle-shaft where it gets thin out at the end that goes into the drive cup!

Looked like some kinda cheap pop-metal! Hope this is a one time defect, not a flaw! No parts are out yet, so the only thing thats saving me, is my friend just got his, and seen this happen and didn't think much of it, so he decided to sell me his before he builds it! Anyone else had this happen? I know there aren't many out yet, but has it happened to you?

I've run mine through a couple of batteries inside the house, no damage so far. I've only had a few good collisions, though... trying to be careful until there are replacement parts!

I'm surprised that the plastic holding the front upright didn't break before the metal shaft! Probably just a defect, like you said.

Yeah, its kinda hard to believe it didn't take out the plastic 1st. I'm almost thinking that the way this thing turns so tight, that maybe those deep outer cups might have grabbed the axle and snapped it. The axle isn't bent or really any marks on it, but one of the front cups had a very little chip in it at the slot.

I got looking last night and noticed that the cups are really deep, almost deeper than needed, so I took all 4 off and ground down the outer edge about 1/16th. I was noticing that the cups will push inward some, and if you turn the wheel tight, then outer edge of the cup wants to hit the axle where it gets big again to go inside the housing!

I gound some off, and it looks way better in there now! No way could the axle come out either, because they set way deep down inside the cup. I will add, these trucks are a absolute blast. Mine will wheelie its butt off! I can't wait till the replacement parts and hop-ups are out! If you don't have one, but are thinking about it. go for it..... You won't be disappointed!
