bud and those guys can help a lot with your sc-18.

from my experience on carpet:
kit red springs
orange fronts
blue rears
high flex t-plate

that will pretty much be the basic of carpet set-ups, but it will work. they're designed to run excellent on carpet right out of the box, with the exception of the optional ball diff, there's not much else you need to do to it.

for oval you might want to look into bud's lto chassis

Steelhead,

If you have't moved on getting the SC18, you should look at the new SC18V2. It is faster and setup for 2/3A cells and features a Tplate. Very nice car and much better through the corners on carpet. Set of Orange and Blue can last much of a season on carpet. Bud also has some long wear Purple compound rears that work well on carpet I think.

Hobbytalk has an active SC18/Pro discussion normally
within the local series. If you have one let me know.
I can give you some setup hints and tips.

Bud Bartos, owner of BRP, also provides great support if you contact him at BRP racing.
