Mini-Baja

Hey Guys, I have been waiting to buy a Mini-T for awhile now. I didn't want to get the original becasue it needed too much work and the Pro Kit was going to cost me too much. I think the new Mini-Baja that is coming out would be a good choice. What do you think? I'm not sure how much faster the new motor will be compared to the original, does anyone have an estimate of its top speed? Thanks. -Tom

The Mini-T Baja will be out mid-December. It will be $150. Here are the main features, and a run-down (This is all off the top of my head)
1. Upgraded RX-280 motor (probably just a couple MPH better. It's yet another relabled Mabuchi can; most likely a 6V instead of a 7.2V, which means it'll last very little time)
2. FM synthesized radio system, 27mhz
3. separate receiver and ESC
4. 6-cell battery pack 1100mah and wall charger
5. two pairs of rear tires: sand claws and step-pins
6. oil shocks
7. bearings

so you think its a decent car, but the motor wont last too long? i don't mind having to buy a new motor. would 20mph be a good guess for it? if it does die, what would be a good cheap choice? i see myself eventually getting a mamba, but im not sure how the stock parts would hold up with that.

is an rc18t/b a better choice when it comes to being stock, or is it just a totally different car and cant be compared?

you cant really compare 4wd against 2wd.....overall there different, like night and day between the two.....now as for another motor to get i would get the Speed 300 6v.....good and inexpensive motor.

The stock motors dont last to long in the mini's a good motor i have found that is not expensive, is the team orion baja, or the team orion chubby. they are both priced about the same (give or take) price of 40 bucks. i think this is a much beter car and cheaper to buy it in this form aposed to the standard mini t. Good luck with your decision!

Just to let you also know that the Chubby and a Speed 300 motor is one and the same, your best bet would be to get a Speed 300 so you wont be paying for the label as well.

You will also need to pick up a motor plate that can hold 370-can motors like the speed300 and Baja.

Baja was made to bolt directly to the stock mini T. I have several.
See thats the way I roll....I only answer posts that I have experience with.
That way I dont give people bogus info that may end up costing them time and money
